Halloween Card using a Digi Stamp

Hey everyone today I have a card for Halloween which is fast approaching. Now i don't normally make a Halloween cards I've only ever made a few but I couldn't resist using this Digi stamp from Virginia Turtle Stamps. It just screamed for a card haha.

To start off I downloaded the Stuck On You stamp from Virginia Turtle (which is a free download). I opened the image and printed it on some Neenah Solar White 110lb. card stock. I then cut it out on my Brother ScanNCut2 with a .04" edge and it came out great. I colored the image with some copic markers in the colors CG01, CG05, CG05, R27, R22. I also used some colored pencils to  add a bit more shading and detail to the image.

After it was all colored I made a blood like water color background using mini distress inks in the colors Fired BrickAged MahoganyBarn Door. I soomshed the inks on my craft mat and sprayed them with water; took my watercolor paper and patted it in the ink in multiple layers drying it in between (this helps create dimension with layers of color). After it was all dry I dripped some water on it and lifted it up to create a "bleached" spot look. I then took the Martha Stewart Drippy Goo punch  and punched I along the bottom edge. to create that creepy blood look. I then stamped Happy Halloween in VersaFine from one of my favorite classic Hero Arts sets Celebrate Everyday and clear embossed it; used the same Drippy Goo punch on the edge of the sentiment and cut in some wavy sides. I then took Pumice Stone Distress Ink and blended it on to the sentiment piece and an additional piece to go behind the watercolor panel.

I rounded the corners and attached the watercolor piece on to a card base of SSS Black card stock with some foam tape. I glued the sentiment behind the image and popped them both on foam tape as well; then added some gems and enamel dots to finish off the card.

I hope you enjoyed today's post and I'll see you again soon :)
