Ok i'll admit it I'm a little (a lot) obsessed with water coloring rite now. It's such a quick and easy way to create a beautiful card. I love that you can create bright and cheery colors or soft and subtle with the same medium.
So today i have two watercolor cards for you. My first one if a super easy and simple birthday card using a stamp set from Simon Says Stamp and some watercolors. The second with some Winnie and Walter stamps, water colors and some bling!

For the first card i started with a piece of watercolor card stock and some of my favorite colors of Distress Inks, i smooshed a bunch of colors on to my craft mat sprayed them with water and made multiple layers of color drying them in between to get a cool muddled look. I then flicked some water droplets to get the cool bleached spot effect, the colors came out so bright and vivid and photographed really well in some natural light (#nofilter lol). I stamped my sentiment in versamark and heat embossed it, attached it to a piece of black card stock and then to my card base and that's it!
For the second card I wanted to to do a bright but subtle looking background, I achieved this by doing the same technique as the first card above but before i did the water droplets I blotted the whole background with a paper towel to take down the intensity of the color. It gave it a really cool look and brought out a lot of texture in the paper. I stamped my greeting in versamark heat embossed it and used a light gray Copic to add a shadow to the happy (this creates a really cool almost 3D effect and makes it stand out a lot), i then attached an embossed dymo label that reads birthday.
I attached the watercolor piece to some black card stock and scattered some sequins and black gems over the card and we're all done. The soft bright look of the background really lets the greeting stand out and the sequins almost look like bubbles floating on the card, I love how they turned out!
